Fame. Sweet, sweet fame.

Yes, you read right, I’m famous and it’s sweeter than Yoo-Hoo. The other day, an Associated Press reporter interviewed me for a podcast called “Lick for Licks” about ice cream truck music. I understand that this particular division of the AP is aimed at smaller, regional newspapers looking to grow their online presence. The papers they are marketing this to are smaller than the Times and the Journal, but larger than the Newton Tab. So far, it’s been on the site of central Pennsylvania’s own Centre Daily, that of the San Luis Obispo Tribune, and, if I heard right, the site of a paper from central Missouri.

The podcast’s focus was on Michael Heart’s Songs For Ice Cream Trucks project and my contribution, predictably enough, was to provide some background about ice cream truck music’s history. (You may remember from an earlier post on the Blogoschmeer that I wrote an article on this subject some years back; it gets dusted off every spring.) Anyhow, the podcast turned out pretty well (if I may say so). I come in just before the five minute mark, so if you’re interested in hearing what I have to say (as opposed to what I have to write), click here, have a listen and enjoy. At the very least, those readers who don’t know me will get a sense of what I sound like.
